Brady Hupet

Board Treasurer

Greetings, my name is Brady Hupet, President of the Sunset Country Métis Community in the Fort Frances Rainy River District. I was born and raised in Fort Frances and Graduated high school with some online courses related to my Employment in the Paper Industry of which I retired from in 2013 after 37 years.

My wife and I have four children and two Grandchildren. I am a Jack of all trades Master of none! After retiring I was motivated to be more involved in my Heritage and culture and reached out and was appointed to sit on Sunset Country Métis Council as Treasurer for 2 years and then as President where I am at present.

These positions are not new to me as I also sat as Financial Secretary and Vice President of Local 92 Communication Energy and Paperworkers Union. I have a passion for adventure, travel and trying new things. I love the wilderness, fishing and hiking and would like to try my hand at prospecting one day when I find the time. I played hockey and baseball growing up and shooting pool of which I excelled at and played at the Nationals in Las Vegas throughout the nineties.

I have skydived, parasailed and love fast roller coasters and canoed a jungle river with snakes, crocs and piranha. I love summer. I took up golf in 1990 and have 3 hole in ones and I love to travel to new courses to play. I also loved to Downhill ski until I injured my back. The future is bright as I have the time and energy to serve the citizens and community where and how I am needed.
